Lately, the term “superfood” is commonly used. Do you know what superfoods are and what they represent? Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods such as algae, seeds, granules, berries, etc. which are packed with vitamins, minerals and proteins. They have been proven to strengthen the immunity and, in some cases, even cure certain illnesses. Examples of superfoods include: goji berries, hemp seeds, moringa and spirulina powder, maca root, chia seeds, coconut oil, barley and wheat grass…Although superfoods are generally more expensive than regular groceries, to keep healthy, our recommendation is to consider purchasing at least one per month. However, bear in mind that they cannot form a meal on their own, superfoods serve only as a form of “dietary supplement” to our standard food regime.
Taking this into account, we have prepared our chia pudding with blueberries recipe to share with you today. Chia seeds are particularly interesting because they are so rich in protein that they completely substitute egg whites. Moreover, they are consumed raw, are incredibly easy to prepare and can be combined with a wide variety of spices, so that a different taste is obtained each time!
